Burnout & Its Effects: Gaining Weight

Have you ever experienced burnout?

Burnout is an experience where you have just simply had enough; enough with working, and all of the other responsibilities that come with being a mom.  Where you're simply overwhelmed and can't go any further.  This is burnout, and if you're not careful it can sometimes lead to depression.  I am not a medical doctor, so I won't delve into depression.  What I can tell you is that you must be in tune to the signs that are telling you that you're doing too much.

I experienced burnout a few years ago when I had entirely too much on my plate.  As I said before, the pounds wouldn't come off no matter how hard I worked out.  I was stressed out, and with all of the other responsibilities, including those who depended on me, I put everyone else first.  Because I came last, my health suffered.  I don't want this to happen to you.

Gotta run to my first shift...

Join me on my weekly Q&A phone call (8:30 pm EST) to talk about it!  Dial 219-509-8111 Code:  972025

Be well!

I have experienced burn-out, but I have learned to delegated, and take time out doing what I love doing (surfing the net and reading) without feeling guilty. Before I always felt my time could be better spent doing house work, paying bills, running errands.. you name, I always thought it was about serving others. Thsi only made me bitter and stressed. One day I even want to write a novel..but that's another blog...

We moms always try to fit busy work into our already packed days. I am with you about the stressed piece, as I was one of those that never said "no" to anyone. But we need to talk about the "one day" for writing your novel...what's stopping you from doing it right NOW?

Yes, I experianced extreme depression. And I am still a work in progress...I started my own "Private Fund" to take care of myself! I am starting to put myself first!
